Radiofrequency Face Treatment (RF)

The radio waves (RF) treatments cause a thermic effect in the tissue. The devices used for the procedures are equipped with electrodes with running current and cooling systems (sometimes also skin applied gels are used). Research has shown that multiple movements of the heads emitting waves of a smaller frequency in a particular skin area gives better results than using a higher energy wave just once.
The treatments that use the radio waves (RF) use the tissue heating effect which is created by a high frequency current running through the skin. The exposure to an external variable magnetic field forces the ions in the tissue to move. The moving particles rub against each other and emit endogenous heat.
The devices used in cosmetology often raise the temperature to about 40-–45°C. The more electrolytes in the tissue the more heat will be produced. Depending on the time of exposure and frequency applied, the heat produced by the skin with the radio waves will push the collagen to shorten and condense or cause its partial denaturation. As we grow older the collagen fibers are more scarce in the dermis and their structure loses its original order. Heating of the skin causes them to flex again and stimulates the fibroblasts to create new collagen and elastin. Heat in the tissue also causes blood vessels to widen which improves the metabolism, nourishing and oxygenation of skin. This makes the skin more flexible and causes wrinkles to become more shallow.

It is recommended to plan the radio waves (RF) therapy in 5 to 10 treatments repeated in 10 to 14 day intervals. The therapy can be repeated once every six months or once a year in order to sustain its effect.
